What is the FroggyMouth?
The Froggymouth Device is a passive myofunctional therapy tool designed to improve swallowing function. The FroggyMouth corrects atypical swallowing function by teaching a new behavior pattern in as little as 15 minutes daily.
It is the only device that prevents a lip seal from forming, which is an essential element of atypical swallowing. By preventing any form of sucking, it perpetuates functional reeducation and thus the stability of your treatments.
Step 1: Simplicity
The FroggyMouth can be used immediately without
adjustment. The patient should wear the device daily for 15
minutes in a seated upright position.
Step 2: Automation
Correct swallowing should be consolidated in the repetitive motor sequences that is why it is important to wear the appliance every day for several months.
Size Selection:
The Froggymouth should not touch the corners of the lips. The choice of the right size depends on the sex and age of the patient. If in doubt between two sizes, we recommend taking the smaller size.

Size L:
The Large size is called “large mouth size”. It is suitable for a minority of adult men. Only 10% of European men are concerned.
Indication:
Myofunctional dysfunction is a medical term that describes a disorder of muscle function in the mouth and facial area. It is a condition in which the muscles of the tongue, lips, and jaw do not work properly.
Normally, these muscles work together harmoniously to allow functions such as swallowing, speaking, breathing and chewing. However, in myofunctional dysfunction, the balance and coordination of these muscles is disrupted, which can lead to a variety of problems.
Common symptoms of myofunctional dysfunction include:
- Mouth breathing: Affected individuals frequently breathe through the mouth instead of the nose.
- Tongue position: The tongue does not rest against the palate in the resting position, but presses against the teeth.
- Lisp: Impaired muscle function can cause impaired pronunciation, especially with the letter "s"
- Swallowing disorders: Swallowing may be impaired, often accompanied by an unhealthy swallowing pattern.
- Tooth and jaw malocclusions: Impaired muscle function may result in irregular tooth alignment or an open bite.
